Metier Interiors delivers fully integrated kitchen and cabinetry projects, bringing together design, manufacturing, and installation into one cohesive process. Rather than separating these stages, everything is handled as a continuous workflow, ensuring clarity, precision, and consistency from concept through completion.
Metier Interiors was established by Sam, whose foundation in the industry began with hands-on training in carpentry and joinery in England. Over time, that technical grounding evolved into leading complex installations and optimizing and scaling operations for multi-location kitchen companies in the United States. The result is a practice shaped equally by craftsmanship and a deep understanding of how to successfully execute projects at the highest level. Sam is driven by his belief to
While based in New York, projects are carried out across Mainland America. Each engagement is structured to accommodate location, with design coordination, logistics, and installation aligned accordingly.
Process & Approach
Every project starts with a conversation. This initial meeting is less about decisions and more about understanding how the space needs to function, how you live within it, and what direction feels right aesthetically for the homeowner to get more out of their space. From there, the framework for the project begins to take shape.
There’s no requirement to arrive fully prepared. A general sense of priorities, how you want the space to work, how you want it to make you feel, and an approximate investment range, is enough to begin. The role of the process is to refine and develop those ideas into something resolved.
That depends on your preference and the other partners you’d like to involve. Some clients want to be closely engaged throughout, while others prefer to step back once direction is established. Our process is designed to support both, with clear checkpoints that keep everything aligned without becoming overwhelming.
Yes. Metier Interiors is regularly engaged directly by interior designers, architects, and contractors on behalf of clients, and is accustomed to being brought in to work alongside other professionals. Whether we are leading the design and scope or executing fully developed plans, we operate as a trusted partner within the broader project team. This ensures complete alignment between design intent, technical execution, and on-site delivery from start to finish.
Metier Interiors remains involved throughout the lifecycle of the project, maintaining continuity between design decisions, production, and final installation. This approach minimizes gaps and keeps the process streamlined.
Timelines
Initial concepts are usually presented within a few weeks, with refinement continuing through an easy, structured refinement process. Most projects move into final approval within roughly a month, depending on scope.
Once your design is approved and production begins, most kitchens are delivered within four to five months. Installation follows as soon as your space is ready, with timing shaped by the scale of the project.
In certain cases, timelines can be adjusted. This depends on factors such as material selection, project complexity, and early alignment. Any acceleration is carefully planned to maintain quality.
For projects that already have detailed plans, estimates can often be prepared within a few days. For those starting from a more conceptual stage, pricing develops alongside the initial design direction.
Materials, Craft & Customization
The material selection is broad by design, shaped only by the inherent properties of the materials themselves. The palette spans stainless steel and book-matched veneers. Continuous vein marbles and smoked woods through to a considered range of metals, textiles, linens, and leathers. As well as advanced modern materials and high-pressure laminates.
Yes, all our cabinetry is made to order. Some collections follow structured systems designed for efficiency and consistency, while others are entirely bespoke. This allows each project to balance customization with performance, depending on what the design calls for.
Yes. In addition to kitchens, Metier Interiors develops custom cabinetry and furniture that integrate seamlessly into the broader interior.
The difference lies in our ethos and how each project is approached. Instead of excelling in a single area – be it creativity, craftsmanship, communications, or logistics – we provide a luxury experience across the board. Rather than selecting from pre-defined solutions, designs are developed with a deeper level of consideration, functionally, materially, and spatially, resulting in something more tailored and resolved.
Investment & Planning
Projects generally begin at a defined baseline, with final investment shaped by size, level of customization, and material selection. Each proposal is built specifically around the project rather than following a fixed package model.
Payments are made across four milestones. A 25% deposit commences at the design process, followed by 35% upon design approval and the start of production. A further 30% is due on delivery, with the final balance settled upon installation, once we have walked through the completed space together.
Estimates are developed to fall within 10% of final costs based on the information available at the time. Variations typically occur only if there are meaningful changes to scope or material choices.
Yes. Construction, architectural services, and permitting are handled separately. Metier Interiors focuses on the design, manufacturing, and installation of interior cabinetry, while coordinating with the broader project team as needed.
Installation & Logistics
The space should be fully prepared – construction complete, surfaces finished, and the environment ready to receive the installation. Our kitchens are installed to the standard of finished furniture, so the cleaner and more complete the space, the better the result.
All components are coordinated and delivered in line with the installation schedule. We are onsite for every delivery, checking and inspecting each piece as it arrives. All deliveries are handled by a white glove team, ensuring everything reaches your home with the care it deserves.
Yes, in terms of timing and integration. While overall site management falls down to the clients specific project management team, Metier Interiors works closely with all parties to ensure ongoing communication and alignment.
